Questions,
questions, questions! Over the years I've had loads about this site
and the stuff on it. Here are some of the more popular ones and my
answers to them (If you didn't already know FAQ = Frequently asked
question). If you have one not listed here please feel free to ask me
by e-mail
. I can't promise an immediate reply but I will answer ( if I
can :o) ). |

Where is "the resting
place", "freebies", "noah and sons"?
These are all names of previous sites I ran. The first two are still
here, just renamed (try looking at writing
and download). I decided to join
the three aspects of my site into one, to hopefully make it easier to
navigate. Noah and Sons can be found
in the humour section.
Can you link to my/our site
I would like to link to more Christian sites. Please see the
links page for details of how to submit a
URL.
Where's your guestbook
gone?
The new host does not support the type of guestbook I had and to be
honest nobody wwas using it anyway :o). If you have comments please
feel free to let
me know.
Can I link to your site?
Of course, please do not link to individual pages but to this page
(http://www.crimperman.org). Read this
for more information. |

When I try to run your
theme it asks me which type of program I want to open it with?
To use desktop themes you need a special program that is supplied
with the "Windows95 Plus!" pack or Windows98. There are
shareware alternatives available.
I don't have a "desktop theme"
icon in my control panel?
see above
My version of Windows only
supports bmp files as wallpapers?
The wallpapers used in the themes are meant only for use within a
theme. If you want normal wallpapers I suggest you download the
wallpaper files from this site.
Can I change/edit the
picture so it uses a different version of the bible?
Sorry, no. The scripture version makes up part of the whole image and
thus not allowed to change it in ANY way.
Can I distribute the
cursors , pointers or icons used in your themes in a collection?
Yes but please let me know first and please include a credit and a
link for this website.

Why do you only produce
16 bit versions of the bitmaps?
The main reason is because the majority of people who requested them
asked for them in that format.
Can I change the picture
so it uses a different version of the bible?
Sorry, no. The scripture version makes up part of the whole image and
thus not allowed to change it. if enough people ask for an alternative
I may produce one.
Can I use the files in a
powerpoint display at my church?
Yes, you can. But please ensure the copyright message with my website
is shown as well. (This is at the bottom of the image). And it would
be nice if you let me know so I can keep track of things.
Can I use the images on my
website?
Yes, you can and you have my permission to change them to gif's of
jpegs accordingly for this purpose. On the condition it is a Christian
website. Please make sure you place an acknowledgment/copyright
message with each image and a link back to this site. Again it would
be nice if you let me know so I can keep track of things.

Why does Scripture
Reminder not have printer support?
It has clipboard support so you can use a text editor to print the
scriptures out - besides one scripture per page is a bit of a waste of
paper isn't it?
Can I use different bible
versions in Scripture Reminder - I don't like the one you have used?
Yes you can. You can delete all the scriptures I supply if you want.
But you may not supply Scripture Reminder to anyone without the
original sr.ini file - so if you add to or edit mine please ensure you
supply the original unedited one as well.
When I try to open the
Scripture Reminder download file in Winzip I get an error?
The download files for both Scripture Reminder and Themepicker are
self extracting archives - not made with Winzip. To use them simply
save them to your hard disk when you download them and then double
click them.
Scripture Reminder 'clips'
my scriptures - I can't read all the text?
This could well be because you have large fonts set on your desktop -
there is a separate version of SR2 especially for this situation - see
the download page for more details.
I have tried to add the
entire contents of Proverbs and SR won't show beyond a certain verse?
There is a size limit (beyond my control) to the type of file SR uses
- when you go beyond that it won't show anything. This will be fixed
in a future release.
Can I change the window
size?
Not in this version - this may be fixed in a future release.
When is the new version
coming out?
To be honest - I don't know. The real answer is "when
it's finished" but I'm not sure when that will be as with a
growing family and church and work commitments it is becoming harder
to find the time now. Bear with me and I'll put an announcement on the
homepage when it's ready.

Why Crimperman?
It's a nickname I picked up at work once. Basically I used to
make up (crimp) network cables and the name grew from there. When I
first joined the web community I didn't want to be some obscure set of
name and numbers given by the ISP so I picked something I thought
would be unique.
Where do you live?
I live in Chigwell in Essex, UK. I have done for most of my
life. I am married with one son and one daughter (see I do update this page!) .
I attend Hainault Evangelical Church where I am (among other things) co-Youthworker
with my wifeand part of the worship team.
What do you believe?
I tend not to like labels and thus describe myself as a
Christian but I am aware that term means different things to different
people. I believe that we are defined by what we believe (or not) and
hopefully my beliefs are evident through the work on this site. But
just to make a few points clear, I believe...
- in one God, creator of all things, Father of all people. He is
holy and loving, friendly and fearsome, good and scary, all knowing,
all seeing, wise beyond our understanding and simple enough to
trust, beyond time and space.
- in Jesus Christ, God's only son, who was before all things, came
to earth, was born of a virgin, lived and was crucified on a cross
and rose again after three days. He then ascended to be with God and
will one day return to rule the earth (no I don't know when).
- in the person and works of the Holy Spirit, the third person of
the Godhead. I don't claim to fully understand how the Trinity works
but I have too often experienced the presence and effects,
collectively and individually, of all three persons in my life to
deny it.
- that Jesus Christ is the only way to God and that there
is nothing we can do to earn our way to God. His grace, provided
through Jesus is sufficient.
- that life is a gift from God, even before it is saved, and as
such it should be used to the best of our ability to worship God and
serve others.
- in the Bible as the word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit,
written by people. I believe it is true. I don't believe one
particular translation, interpretation or authorship is better than
others.
- in prayer. It works - try it and see.
- that God loves you (and me).
